Wallet Brought Me My Wife

Now I live in a lovely house with my family in the suburb of the city of New Jersey. Every morning, my wife would get up earlier than the rest of the family and prepares the breakfast for us. She is really quite a sweet little woman. Then, after I get up and finish my breakfast, I am going to leave for my work. Then my wife would say, “Hey, honey! Don’t forget your wallet!” About this, there is a story, which is about how my wallet brought me my lovely wife.

It was about ten years ago when I was still studying in college. It was the first year. In the eyes of all the others, I belonged to the group of fresh hands. Students belonging to this group were not only “stupid” and naive, but they also often forgot things. Take me as an example. At the very beginning of my college life, I often got my personal articles lost. Sometimes when I went to the library, I would forget my books there. Sometimes when I went to class, I would leave my MP3 there. I really hated forgetting things. But I should say that I loved this “forgetting”.

At that time, I had a nice wallet, which was a gift from my parents when I left home for college. I put all of my stuff in it, including band cards, credit card, ID card and money and so on. To speak from certain aspect, it was indeed the most important thing for me. I really couldn’t imagine how terrible my life would be if I lost it. However, it really happened. It was a rainy night. I still went to the library to study. Several days later, there would be an exam, which was rather important. It’s a shame to say that I didn’t pay much attention in class. Therefore, when the exam was on the way, I had to spend more time than others. Sometimes, I would even stay up late all through the night. But this also made me tired.

That night, I sat down and started to read books. I placed my wallet and MP3 in the desk drawer. Soon, I got very sleepy. Then I fell asleep. When I woke up, I found few students around. The closing bell of the library was ringing. So I packed my books and left. Sadly, I left my wallet and MP3 player there. On the following day, I finally realized this cruel fact when I needed to use money. But it was too late, when I arrived at that desk I sat in last night, my favorite wallet was gone. I didn’t really care about the MP3 player. But the wallet including things in it was too important. I became rather desperate. Then I went back to my dormitory and went to bed. I never expected that someone would give it back to me.

In my dream, I heard a call. I took it and it was a girl, voice of whose was rather sweet. She asked me out. When I got there, I saw her hold my wallet. I was so happy that I embraced her. Feeling the body temperature of hers, it was then that I realized that it was not a dream. And well, that girl Lucy later became my wife.
